CPU memory installation method and steps

Step 1: Check accessories

Before starting the installation, you first need to carefully check whether the purchased accessories are consistent with the order. The process of checking accessories is not only to confirm the model, but also to check the integrity of the accessories and whether the appearance is damaged. Especially the CPU and memory, as core components, any small defects may affect the performance of the whole machine.

Checking steps:

1.Check the accessory model: check the brand, model and specifications of the CPU and memory stick against the order.

2.Appearance inspection: Check whether the accessories have physical damage, such as bent pins, damaged interfaces, etc.

3.Accessory integrity: Make sure all accessories and accompanying installation tools (such as thermal paste, screwdrivers) are complete.

Step 2: Clean the CPU and memory

Before installation, wipe the gold finger part of the CPU and memory with an eraser. Gold fingers refer to the metal contacts that connect the CPU and memory to the motherboard. Their cleanliness directly affects the stability of signal transmission.

Cleaning steps:

1.Prepare an eraser: Choose a clean eraser to ensure that no eraser crumbs are left.

2.Wipe the gold fingers: Gently wipe the gold fingers to remove the oxide layer and stains that may be attached to the surface. Wipe gently to avoid damaging the gold fingers.

3.Check the cleaning effect: Check the gold fingers after wiping to ensure that they are smooth and free of stains.

Step 3: Install the CPU and memory

Installing the CPU and memory is the core part of the whole process. Improper installation may cause the device to fail to start normally or even damage the hardware.

Steps to install the CPU:

1.Open the CPU slot: Press the metal fixing rod of the CPU slot on the motherboard to open it.

2.Place the CPU: Align the CPU with the positioning notch on the slot and gently put it in. Make sure the direction is correct and do not press it forcefully.

3.Fix the CPU: After placing the CPU, fix the metal fixing rod in the original way.

Step 3: Install the CPU and memory

Installing the CPU and memory is the core part of the whole process. Improper installation may cause the device to fail to start normally or even damage the hardware.

Steps to install the CPU:

1. Open the CPU slot: Press the metal fixing rod of the CPU slot on the motherboard to open it.

2. Place the CPU: Align the CPU with the positioning notch on the slot and gently put it in. Make sure the direction is correct and do not press it forcefully.

3. Fix the CPU: After placing the CPU, fix the metal fixing rod in the original way.

Steps to install memory:

1. Open the memory slot: Press the fixing clips at both ends of the memory slot to open the slot.

2. Place the memory stick: Align the memory stick with the notch on the slot and insert it gently. Make sure the direction is correct.

3. Fix the memory stick: After insertion, press both ends of the memory stick until you hear a "click", indicating that the fixing clip is automatically stuck.

Step 4: Install the fan

The installation of the fan is crucial for heat dissipation. When installing, pay attention to evenly apply thermal paste to the contact surface of the fan and the CPU to ensure the heat dissipation effect.

Steps to install the fan:

1.Apply thermal paste: Apply an appropriate amount of thermal paste on the surface of the CPU. Apply evenly, not too much or too little.

2.Install the fan: Align the fan with the CPU slot and place it gently. Fix the four corners of the fan and tighten the screws.

3.Connect the fan power cord: Plug the fan power cord into the fan power socket on the motherboard.

Step 5: Connect the power supply and test

After completing the hardware installation, you need to connect the power supply and test whether the system can operate normally.

Steps to connect the power supply:

1.Connect the motherboard power supply: Plug the power cord into the power interface of the motherboard and make sure the plug is secure.

2.Connect the monitor: Plug the monitor interface into the video output interface of the motherboard.

3.Short-circuit Power SW: Use a screwdriver or other metal object to short-circuit the Power SW interface on the motherboard to simulate the function of the power button.
